Untraditional and Vibrant Spring Wedding at Emerald Ridge Farm || Weaverville, NC

Although we all live in the Raleigh area, I first met Charlie and Kenny out on the NC coast, where we spent an unexpectedly cold and windy sunset photographing their engagement session as we got to know each other. A month later, we were trekking to the other end of the state, trading waves for mountains as the setting for their ceremonial wedding. And, as they always do, the Blue Ridge Mountains seriously delivered - with a cozily overcast but vibrantly blue backdrop for these two to once again make their vows to each other, this time surrounded by friends and family.
The beauty of getting legally married first is that you then truly have the opportunity to celebrate your wedding however you want. One white dress for the ceremony and then a black dress for the party? Absolutely. Turning your thank you toast into a birthday surprise for the groom? Celebrate to the sounds of Bob Seger, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, and Metallica? No question. And that’s exactly how these two celebrated their special day: relaxed, full of love, and with their own flair.
Thank you to everyone who made this such a beautiful day!
