Downtown Rooftop Winter Wedding at Botanical Lounge || Raleigh, NC
When we were standing on the frigid mountaintop overlooking a beautiful sunset finishing off their engagement photos last year, we were laughing that their September wedding would at least have much warmer, sunnier weather. As anyone who was in WNC the weekend of September 28, 2024 knows, that was absolutely not the case.
Last February we could not have expected to be standing on a sunlit Raleigh rooftop enjoying the most springlike January Saturday possible while Carolina and Avery were finally able to make their vows to each other surrounded by family and friends. But, whatever heartache and challenges it took to get to last weekend, the day itself was so full of love and warmth that it hardly seemed to matter. The couple’s families, wedding party, and event space staff worked diligently to make sure the lounge reception space was decorated to perfection, and throughout the night, the dance floor was always full of revelers celebrating to the fullest. We even got to dash out for a few minutes during golden hour for their portraits, rounding out their collection of mountain AND cityscape photos.
It may have taken a few extra months to get there, but the joy of Carolina and Avery’s wedding day was absolutely worth it. Thank you to everyone who came together to make sure their day was extra special!
