Autumn-Colored Destination Mountain Wedding at Ridgeview Venue || Asheville, NC

Though October is usually a bustling and joyful month here in WNC - particularly for the wedding industry - this year has, for obvious reasons, been both quieter and much more uncertain. So, it was with even more excitement than usual (is that possible?) that Anna and Andrew’s family, friends, and wedding vendors came together to create what was one of the most relaxed, seamless, and happy celebrations that I’ve ever been a part of in my 12 years of photographing weddings.

Now, I think we did all collectively hold our breath when, at 1:45pm, completely out of the blue and without any prior indication, it started pouring. But, we chalked it up to mountain weather and, thank goodness, by 2pm we were able to step outside into the cooler, fresher air to begin our portraits. After all, rain on a wedding day is good luck.

It was such a balm to be able to spend the day in complete normalcy doing what we all love most, especially surrounded by people who were so generous in their excitement and celebration of the happy couple. Anna and Andrew’s loved ones were quick to assist in all things sartorial, and equally ready to party the moment we hit the dance floor!
