Annual Tennis Tournament Photo & Video Marketing, Players’ Print Gallery, and Clubhouse Decor
I served as the Asheville Open Tennis Tournament photography sponsor and media team annually since 2018. The sponsorship wing of this project includes discounted daily rate in exchange for appearance on all marketing material. Myself and my team work to cover all (or most, depending on the tournament’s schedule) matches and document all other aspects of the tournament atmosphere for the tournament’s and city’s promotion and marketing, as well as for the athletes. All tournaments are priced according to number of competition days, size of the tournament, scope of material delivered, and number of visible sponsorship placements.
Gallery of event images for social daily social media engagement and yearly marketing
At the end of each tournament day, I deliver 30-40 images of a variety of subjects - event atmosphere, player action, crowd engagement, sponsors & amenities, facility views, and volunteers - for the tournament marketing team to share and post. At the end of the tournament each year, the marketing team and tournament directors receive a USB of all photos organized into categories for their use in internal and external marketing and community engagement.
Online photo store for athletes
As the tournament’s photo sponsor, I provide a yearly gallery organized by date from which athletes and family are able to purchase prints and digital images. My team and I aim to photograph as many matches as possible, with 5-10 photos of every single athlete available for viewing and purchase at the end of each day. This includes both action and awards photos, and we are also available for family photos when desired.
Printed photographs for tournament clubhouse
After the tournament, the director and I select the best 30-40 photos to print for their clubhouse wall - both as individual prints ranging from 11” x 14” to 20” x 30,” and as 10” x 30” collages. Over the course of the last seven tournaments, we have decorated most of the clubhouse. This service includes printing from lab using high quality archival paper, framing each print in coordinating frames, and installing all of the prints myself.
“The Asheville Open Tennis Championships is very fortunate to have the services of professional photographer Adrian Etheridge and her team since 2018 to capture the tournament (adult and junior) through pictures and videos. We utilize the videos for marketing and many of her tournament pictures are now prominent in the tennis clubhouse for patrons to enjoy. In addition, she provides the opportunity for players to purchase action shots online during and after the tournament. Adrian and her team are true professionals who are a pleasure to work with throughout the tournament. Adrian’s calm demeanor and willingness to pivot during weather issues make it easy to work with her and her team. I highly recommend Adrian Etheridge Photography for any tennis tournament looking to capture the action of the players, spectators, sponsors, staff, and officials. ”
Short Story-Driven Brand Videos for Product Marketing
Yearly highlights recap video with copyright free music
Each tournament package includes one overall highlights video promoting both the adults’ and the juniors’ tournament. This includes footage of athletes, sponsors, amenities, volunteers, atmosphere, facility, and location. Each video follows a different theme or concept so that each one is unique. This video goes on the tournament’s webpage for the year to promote the next year’s tournament, goes out in a newsletter to the competitors to thank them for their attendance, and is presented at any annual local and regional Tenno awards conferences.
Interview-Based Promotional Video
To highlight the tennis community’s experience in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, I put together an additional highlights video this year, showcasing interviews from tournament staff and volunteers in conjunction with tournament footage. The purpose of this video was to not only discuss the community’s experiences following a tragic and historic event, but to discuss why this tournament is unique.
Social Media Recap Video
After each adult and each juniors tournament, I create a brief 20-30 second recap reel (Instagram) or video (Facebook) for the social media team to be able to share online immediately. These videos are brief and meant primarily to thank all competitors, families, and volunteers for attending. I also send over a video bank of individual clips for the team to create their own reels and TikToks throughout the year according to their own promotional schedule.
Vibrant Action Photos
My team and I are all current and former competitive athletes, so are well acquainted with athletic and on-court etiquette. We coordinate with each other to cover all awards ceremonies and as many matches as possible, while also showing the fun and inclusive atmosphere of these annual local tournament. Our aim is to document the inviting climate of this tournament and city while also celebrating its athletes.
